Miclean Tax Service has served the Bay Area since 1975. Their website hadn’t kept up. We rebuilt it from the ground up: custom-coded, lightning fast, and engineered to turn visitors into booked consultations.
The challenge
Decades of trust, a website that didn’t show it. The old site was a dated template built on a calendar-slider theme: slow to load, awkward on mobile, broken layout shortcodes showing through the page, and no real way to capture or qualify a lead. For a firm whose entire value is expertise and trust, the first impression was working against them.
What we built
Not a theme with plugins bolted on. A custom-coded site where the parts that matter, the conversion path and the tracking, are owned code, not rented widgets.
A brand that earns trust
A warm, editorial identity: Fraunces and Inter type, a deep brick-red palette, custom logo, and on-brand imagery. WCAG AA contrast throughout.
Custom intake form
A multi-step, email-verified (OTP) intake that qualifies the lead with progressive tax questions. No CAPTCHA, no form plugin, spam stopped server-side.
Built-in scheduler
Visitors book a real consultation without leaving the page. It reads the firm’s live calendar, shows open slots in the visitor’s time zone, and auto-creates a Teams meeting.
Real conversion tracking
GTM and GA4 fire only on genuine completions, never on a pageview. First-party attribution credits every lead to its true source, down to the ad click.
A blog that ranks
A 25-article publishing system with live search, category filtering, custom diagrams, and on-brand hero imagery, all carrying the same speed treatment.
Found by search and AI
Clean on-page SEO plus a structured-data layer (LocalBusiness, FAQ, articles) so the site is legible to Google and to AI answer engines alike.
The result: genuinely fast
Performance was treated as a feature, not an afterthought, and measured the way Google measures it: a cold, throttled, logged-out Lighthouse run.

Turning visitors into booked calls
The whole point of the site. A verified, qualifying intake form flows straight into a scheduler that books a real consultation against the firm’s live calendar, in the visitor’s own time zone, with a Teams link created automatically. No third-party booking page, no lost leads.
A blog built to be read and found
A complete publishing system: 25 drafted articles on California and federal tax topics, each with a custom hero image and on-brand diagrams, live search and category filtering, and the same speed and brand treatment as the rest of the site.
